In June 1994, The Westfield Board of Education added varsity and junior varsity ice hockey as a self-supporting sports program.

This year the Westfield High School Ice Hockey Team will begins its 13th season. While the program continues to grow and be successful, we are partially funded. The Board of Education can only afford to provide the varsity and junior varsity coach's salaries, transportation and referee fees. The remaining cost of support, maintenance and ice time, which is approximately $40,000.00, is the responsibility of the participating families. Since the 1994/1995 season the cost per family has grown from $300 to $1,200 for the 2006/2007 season.

The Westfield High School Ice Hockey Association is a 503c Not-For Profit organization that accepts contributions of cash and/or appreciated securities to reduce the financial burden on participating families and permanently endow the program. Your tax-deductible contribution to support the 2007/2008 high school season or to fund the endowment would be greatly appreciated.

(1)This would go to student(s) whose families would incur a financial hardship for their child to play high school hockey. If there are no families in this position then the sponsorship would be equally shared among all families participating in the 2007/2008 season.
